What are the sizes or your "Super Sized" units?

  • The large units are 16' wide x 50' long x 16' tall (with 1, 14x14 door)
  • The XL units are 32' wide x 50' long x 16' tall (with 2, 14x14 doors)
  • The XXL units are 48' wide x 50' long x 16' tall (with 3, 14x14 doors)

When will the new "Super Sized" units be available?

These units are available to rent today!

Is there electricity in the Super Sized Units?

Yes there is. These units have overhead lighting and 110V power (included in the rental price).

Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

No, we rent units on a month-to-month basis with a one-month minimum term. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible when you plan to move out (the L, XL and XXL units require a 30 days' notice). You can schedule your move out date in the online account.

Are there any discounts?

We offer 6-month and 12-month discounts for paying in advance. You can see the monthly, 6-month, and 12-month rental rates by visiting the "Rent Storage Online" page (discounts vary by unit size). 


How do I rent a unit?

Once you create an account on our website, you can complete the entire rental process on your own. After you sign your rental agreement (electronically online), you can move-in at your convenience. You will need to secure your storage unit after renting. We recommend a disc lock (Ace Hardware and other hardware stores in the area typically carry them).

What kind of lock do I need?

Occupants are responsible for supplying their own locks. State Storage recommends a disc lock (Ace Hardware and other hardware stores in the area typically carry them).

What is the minimum amount required to move-in?

Assuming you rent on a month-to-month basis, you will need to pay 1 month's rent and the $25 administrative fee the day you rent. Billing recurs on the anniversary date of your rental. 

*For 6 and 12-month rentals, you are required to pay the entire amount on the day you rent.

After move-in when will I be billed again?

We bill on the anniversary date of your rental.

How do I discontinue my rental?

Per the rental agreement, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible when you plan to move out. You can schedule your move out date in the online account. Log into your account on the website and click Move-Out. This will take you through the process of scheduling your move-out date. You can also email if that works better (and we will schedule the move-out for you). The L, XL and XXL units require a minimum of 30 days' advance notice before moving out. Rental payments are non-refundable.

How do I complete my move-out?

For the mini-storage units, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible when you plan to move out. The L, XL and XXL units require a minimum of 30 days' advance notice before moving out. You can schedule your move out date in the online account or email us if that works better for you (and we will schedule the move-out for you). On or before your move-out date, please empty the unit, sweep it out and remove your lock. If your cell phone is listed in your account. you can send a picture via text (605) 570-5262) or email it to (info@statestorage.com), showing us the broom swept, empty unit (including unit number). Once we have that, we'll finalize the move-out process. Rental payments are non-refundable (including prepayments for 6 and 12 months).

Please Note: If you are moving out on the last day of the month, we need you to complete the move out process no later than 3 PM that day or you risk being charged for the next month.

When will my deposit be refunded?

If there is a deposit on the unit you rented, we typically process deposits on the 2nd or 3rd calendar day following the month you move out. Example: if you move out in September, we will process your deposit refund on October 2nd or 3rd. Deposits are refunded to the same credit card they were paid with. 

Will my month be pro-rated when I move out?

No, there are no partial refunds for unit rent. Rental payments are non-refundable (including prepayments for 6 and 12 months).

How do I gain access to the facility?

Once the rental agreement is signed, you will be sent an email with the subject "State Storage - New Rental Information". This email will contain your unit number, the facility address and your gate code for 24x7 access. The gate code only applies to the mini storage area.
